The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi is rebuilt from the Torne River every winter and is the original of the type. It sits well north of the Arctic Circle, reached via Kiruna, and it is an overnight destination — not a bolt-on to a Stockholm weekend.
Tours combine a night in ice or warm rooms with Northern Lights hunts, dog-sleds and a visit to the hall itself. The winter season is the point; a summer exhibition version exists but is a different trip.
